I have grown up being obsessed with language in all its forms, especially the way languages influence the way we think. My full-time hobbies of reading and writing also influenced my previous full-time job working with language at Adobe, where I worked at the intersection of AI and its explainability, psychology, creativity, and marketing. From building things at Adobe, I have chosen to be a full-time student again at Carnegie Mellon University in the Language Technologies Institute (LTI).

I also wrote a book, and this has made me increasingly curious about what it means for creativity in the age of AI. Do I want AI to do my laundry while I do my art? Yes. But do I also want to build creative AI that can be used to advance research in various disciplines? Yes. Fueled by these opposing emotions but mainly a desire to understand ourselves, I am excited about research in AI.

My area of interest is understanding the relationship between model learning and behaviour. To this end, I am curious about model representations, model learning trajectories, evaluation, and model explainability. With the understanding and evaluation of model behaviour, I would like to work on closing the loop by controlling and aligning model behaviour.
